Grover Beach has three seats available in Nov. 8 council election
Three seats including mayor will be open on the Grover Beach City Council in the Nov. 8 general election.
The nomination period opens Monday.
Incumbent Councilman Jeff Lee has filed his candidate statement saying he intends to run for a second four-year term. Councilwoman Karen Bright is precluded from running because she has reached her term limit (two consecutive terms on the council). Mayor John Shoals is also up for re-election in November; Shoals has previously told The Tribune he intends to run for a second two-year term.
To be eligible for a seat, a candidate must live in and be a registered voter of the city of Grover Beach. Contact the Grover Beach city clerk for information at 805-473-4567 or dmcmahon@groverbeach.org.
The deadline for filing candidacy papers for any race in the Nov. 8 election is Aug. 12 unless an incumbent is not running. In that case, the deadline is extended to Aug. 17.
