Monday is the deadline to register to vote in Paso groundwater election
Midnight Monday is the deadline to register to vote for the special election related to the proposed Paso Robles Groundwater Basin District.
Eligible voters living within the boundaries of the proposed district who are not registered, have moved or changed their names must complete a new voter registration, according to the San Luis Obispo County Office of the County Clerk-Recorder.
Voter registrations must be postmarked or received in the Clerk-Recorder’s Office by Feb. 22 to be eligible to vote in the special election. Paper registrations are available throughout the county at county offices, post offices, city halls, libraries, notary offices, utility companies and the Department of Motor Vehicles. Voters can also register online as late as midnight, by going to www.slocounty.ca.gov/clerk.htm.
Registered voters receive a mail-in ballot for the special election; the ballot is due March 8.
