Under 40 in SLO County? The Tribune wants to know what issues you care about in 2024
While we celebrate the holidays, the next election cycle is creeping up on us.
San Luis Obispo County’s primary election is on March 5, in which thousands of San Luis Obispo County residents will cast their votes for county, state and federal offices on the ballot.
The Tribune has a simple question for you: What issues do San Luis Obispo County’s young voters care about?
The Tribune is reprising Outspoken — a special election project originally launched during the 2020 election — this year aimed at residents under 40 years of age
Outspoken will gather and amplify the concerns, questions and issues local millennials and voting-age Gen Z’ers care about in San Luis Obispo County. Work in San Luis Obispo County but don’t live here? We want to hear from you too!
This winter, we hope to speak with you all about the future you see for the Central Coast.
The environment? Cost of living? Government spending? Whatever it is, we want to know.
We’ll then publish a citizens agenda listing these concerns ahead of election, and distribute them to candidates for local office. We’ll also publish stories based on these concerns, including what candidates intend to do to address their community’s issues.
But first, we need your help.
Please fill out the Google form below to let us know what issues you care about. (Form not loading? Click here to open it in a new window.)
All answers will be used for data purposes only. Your name or identifying details won’t be published without your consent. If a reporter wishes to follow up with you on your answers, they will be in contact through email.
Don’t want to fill out the form, but do have something to say? Email Tribune reporters Stephanie Zappelli (szappelli@thetribunenews.com) or John Lynch (jlynch@thetribunenews.com) with your comments or questions.
We are also looking for community groups to partner with for various outreach efforts associated with the project, including Zoom town halls, listening sessions and expert talks. If you or your group are interested in partnering with The Tribune on Outspoken, please email reporter Stephanie Zappelli at szappelli@thetribunenews.com.
