From Oceano to Paso Robles, here are election night results for SLO County CSDs
Tuesday’s election included several community services district boards who oversee services such as waste pickup, water and fire protection.
In many of the races, however, candidates went unchallenged. Here’s a look at results from four competitive districts, with all precincts reporting.
In Cambria, three candidates were competing for two seats.
Debra Scott led with 39.7% of the vote, Michael Thomas had 36.8% and Jim Bahringer had 23.4%.
In Heritage Ranch near Lake Nacimiento, seven candidates are running for three open seats.
Small business owner Masen Yaffee led with 19.7% of the vote, construction inspector and contractor Bill Gene Barker had 17.5%, Michael Camou had 16.7% of the vote, IT manager Martin Rowley had 15.7%, incumbent Reg Cousineau received 13.9% of the vote, Miriam Merrill had 12.7% and compliance officer Steven Lovick had 3.8%.
Four candidates are competing for two, four-year seats on the Ground Squirrel Hollow CSD board in Paso Robles.
Appointed incumbent Pam Fulmer had 45.2% of the vote, Edmond Martinson 38.6% and incumbent James Scott Durian 16.2%.
And in the South County, the Oceano CSD has one competitive seat: a two-year term representing the full district.
Community services volunteer Charles Varni led with 55.5% of the vote against appointed incumbent Steve Montes with 44.2%.
