President Donald Trump will address the nation this week
President Donald Trump will address the nation at 9 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 16, he announced on social media.
Trump did not give a topic for the speech, and the White House did not say what topic the president will address.
The announcement comes amid renewed fighting in Iran, during an election season that could result in his Republican Party losing seats in Congress, and after the death of his ally Sen. Lindsey Graham.
Major broadcast news networks usually carry presidential addresses, and livestreams are available at WhiteHouse.gov and on the White House's YouTube page.
