Woman walking alone is offered a ride by a stranger, then she’s raped, OK cops say
A driver approached a woman walking alone downtown after being out with friends and repeatedly offered her a ride, Oklahoma police said.
She initially refused, and then accepted the proposed offer from Noor Afghan to drive her home in October, according to Tulsa police.
But Afghan didn’t take the woman home, according to police. Instead, he parked the car under a bridge.
Now, he’s facing charges of first-degree rape, Tulsa police said in a Feb. 25 Facebook post.
The woman said she passed out while she was in the car and woke up to Afghan raping her, police said.
Then, Afghan drove the woman to a gas station where she met up with her roommate, authorities said. He told the roommate that he was a rideshare driver and was helping the woman, but he did not go through the app, police said.
The woman reported the rape to police, which launched a months-long investigation.
