Naked woman crashes stolen car, then takes shower in stranger’s home, Indiana cops say
A naked woman was arrested after crashing a stolen car, Indiana officials said.
On Jan. 19, the 37-year-old La Porte resident crashed the stolen car into a tree and basketball hoop, according to a Facebook post by the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office.
A homeowner called police and a deputy was dispatched, officials said.
The deputy found the silver 2007 BMW and determined it had crashed head-on into a tree, officials said.
The homeowner told the deputy that the woman was in his home showering, officials said.
That’s when the deputy entered the residence and walked toward the bathroom, asking the woman to come out, deputies said.
She made her way out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel and identified herself, deputies said.
After further investigating, it was determined the woman stole the car from a nearby home, officials said.
She was taken to a hospital to be evaluated, deputies said.
She was arrested on charges of theft, unauthorized entry of a vehicle used in a crime, criminal mischief and public nudity, officials said.
La Porte is about a 150-mile drive northwest from Indianapolis.
