A desperate call for help came from inside a Pennsylvania home as a 19-year-old man killed his family in an apparent murder-suicide, officials told news outlets.

The killings occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at a home in North Sewickley Township, the Beaver County Times reported.

The parents, Clifford and Michelle Hunt, were declared dead at the scene while the accused shooter, Clifford Hunt Jr., was taken to a hospital with his 16-year-old brother, district attorney Nate Bible told the newspaper. Both brothers died from their injuries.

As of the morning of Jan. 14, the North Sewickley Police Department has said little about the incident other than it is “contained” and “there is no threat to the public.”

“The investigation is still ongoing and more information will be shared when it becomes available,” the department said.

Police went to the home in response to a shots fired call, police told WTAE. Investigators later learned the 911 call was made at the home.

Investigators believe Hunt Jr’s younger brother, Cody, called 911, WPXI reported.

“It’s not only one tragedy but it’s four all at the same time,” Autumn Ashurst, who knew the family, told the station. “People are one, desperate for answers, and two, desperate to see how they can help out.”

Cody is remembered as a kind-hearted boy who played saxophone in marching band at Riverside High School. He planned on following his passion for aviation by joining the Air Force, the station reported.

Officials have not said what may have motivated the shooting.

North Sewickley Township is a roughly 40-mile drive northwest from Pittsburgh.
