A mother of eight died in a crash when her minivan was struck by two Ford Mustangs, according to Texas reports.

Diana Ruth Martinez, 37, had just picked up two of her sons from work at Wienerschnitzel when she was involved in the Dec. 5 crash in San Antonio, according to a GoFundMe.

She was struck from behind by the driver of one of the Mustangs after she turned onto a road outside the fast-food restaurant, KENS reported, citing the San Antonio Police Department. The initial crash redirected her Honda Odyssey, and she was then struck by the second Mustang in another lane, police told the news outlet.

“So I ran outside and I noticed that it was two of my employees coming out of (the minivan) and they’re just like, ‘My mom, my mom,’” Samantha Garcia, who owns the Weinerschnitzel franchise, told KCEN.

Garcia said the mother’s sons “were in shock” after the crash, according to the news outlet.

Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene, KSAT reported. The teenagers in her minivan had minor injuries.

In addition to her eight children, Martinez also had one grandchild, according to her obituary.

“When she became a mother, it’s like her world was her kids, and that was it,” her sister, Michelle Reyes, told KABB. “No matter what situation we were in, her world was her kids. We could always count on one another.”

“Everyone always says that you think about someone when they pass and how great they were, but she really was great,” another of her sisters, Diana Martinez, told the news outlet.

Police said charges were not pending against the drivers of the Mustangs, KSAT reported.
