A man posed as an Amazon worker to steal packages from porches in Oregon, deputies said.

Residents saw the 46-year-old man at 4:47 a.m. Aug. 5 at an apartment complex in Rock Creek, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

He was stealing and opening packages from doorsteps while dressed in an Amazon vest, a beanie and a baseball cap, deputies said.

But he wasn’t an Amazon worker.

Shortly after, deputies arrested him on charges of first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree theft.

Deputies said he also vandalized a vehicle with stolen spray paint.

Authorities said it’s likely the same man may have stolen packages from other areas.

Anyone with information can call 503-629-0111.

Rock Creek is a neighborhood outside Portland.
