Dad dies saving son from oncoming pickup truck, Texas cops say. Driver is still wanted
Texas police are looking for a driver after a man died saving his son from being hit by a pickup truck.
On June 3, Raul Pena moved his son out of the way from an oncoming pickup truck in Bexar County, according to the sheriff’s office.
In doing so, Pena was fatally struck by the truck, officials said.
“Raul Pena managed to prevent his son from being hit by the pickup, however, he later succumbed to his injuries as a result of the accident,” officials said.
Pena’s mother told WTXF when she got the call about the accident she had no idea it would lead to her son’s death.
“It’s a human being that he took, you know, and my grandson, he’s only 12 years old,” Rita Luis told the news outlet.
Officials are still looking for a dark Toyota Tacoma with damage to the hood and the grill.
