A man is accused of killing his 67-year-old father, who was found dead in the backyard of a Texas home, authorities say.

Officers in League City were dispatched to a home around 7:20 p.m. Saturday, June 8, for multiple reports of gunshots being fired, according to a news release.

“LCPD dispatch advised officers they could hear people screaming in the background,” the League City Police Department said.

When officers entered the home, they found 43-year-old Raymond Jeremiah Stoney holding a gun, police said.

His father, Raymond Stoney, was found dead in the backyard, according to the news release.

It’s unclear what led to the shooting. Police said they took the son into custody, and he was charged with murder

Raymond Jeremiah Stoney was jailed on a $250,000 bond, according to police.
