A fetus was found on a bus seat, Baltimore cops say. Then second fetus was discovered
The discovery of two fetuses on a public bus in Baltimore over the weekend has homicide detectives investigating, according to reports.
The driver of the Maryland Transit Administration Bus found the first fetus on a seat at around 12:39 p.m. in East Baltimore on June 1, the Baltimore Police Department told the Baltimore Banner.
Then another fetus was found on the same bus, Det. Freddie Talbert confirmed to McClatchy News on June 3.
Both fetuses were located by the driver and were stillborn, according to the medical examiner’s office, WBAL-TV reported.
A woman who regularly rides the bus told the TV station that she is a mother and a grandmother, and was “in shock” to hear about the discovery.
After the bus driver reported finding the fetus, the MTA Police and Baltimore police, including a homicide unit, responded, according to the Baltimore Sun.
The case is considered a “questionable death” investigation, police told the newspaper.
When asked how the fetuses might’ve ended up on the bus, Talbert told McClatchy News that “it’s very early on in the investigation to determine this information.”
Talbert said the investigation is “active and ongoing.”
