An 11-year-old boy is facing sexual assault charges following a rape investigation in Pennsylvania, authorities say.

After learning of “an allegation of sexual abuse,” Pennsylvania State Police officers in Mercer County launched an investigation, state police said in a May 22 news release.

Now the boy, who lives in Greenville, is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting two younger children, a 7-year-old boy and 3-year-old girl, according to police. Investigators say he assaulted them “on multiple occasions” over a span of more than two years from April 2021 to December 2023.

“Charges have been filed against the (boy) through Mercer County Juvenile Probation,” police said.

Both victims live in Akron, Ohio, but the assaults happened in Greenville, Pennsylvania, according to officials. Greenville is close to the Ohio border, and a roughly 70-mile drive northeast of Akron.

Investigators did not say how the boy knew the other children.
