Customer opens fire at Papa John’s because his pizza wasn’t ready, Utah cops say
A 32-year-old man is accused of shooting at a Utah Papa John’s store multiple times because his pizza order was delayed, police told multiple media outlets.
Police said Paul Fracasso and another man walked into the pizza shop in Draper around 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14, KTVX reported.
They ordered a pizza by phone, the news outlet reported, but the employee told them their system was down so the pizza was not ready.
But the worker said they could place a new order while they were in the store, KUTV reported.
Both men became upset over the order and refused to leave until an employee called the police, KSTU reported.
One man was seen riding a white and blue dirt bike and the other had a skateboard, the TV station reported.
Police said the two men returned to the shop around 8:45 p.m., KTVX reported. Fracasso is accused of firing about five or six bullets at the front store.
Glass shattered and struck one employee in the face, the news outlet reported. There were three workers at the restaurant during the time of the incident.
An employee heard a dirt bike after the shooting and told police they thought the rider was the upset man who had been in the store earlier, KUTV reported.
Police said they saw two men in an open garage next to a dirt bike, which matched the description from the Papa John’s employee, KTVX reported.
Both men were detained and tested for gunshot residue, the news outlet reported.
Fracasso’s test came back positive for residue, police said, and shell casings found at the scene matched the gun found in his car, KUTV reported.
Police arrested Fracasso, charging him with discharge of a firearm and aggravated assault.
