14-year-old caught driving stolen Jeep with meth, cash and stolen guns, Oregon cops say

Four boys and two men were arrested Nov. 1 in Oregon after evading police in a stolen Jeep Wrangler, authorities said.

The incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. in Salem, when a police officer tried to stop the stolen vehicle for an equipment violation, according to a statement released on Facebook by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver, a 14-year-old boy, ran multiple red lights and continued to drive recklessly for several miles. Police used spike strips to deflate the tires on the Jeep and stop it, the statement said.

The driver and its passengers, ranging from 11 to 23 years old, fled into the surrounding neighborhood, the statement said.

Deputies eventually caught up with the six individuals and detained them. Police recovered two stolen handguns, an AR-15 style rifle, meth, and cash from the vehicle, the statement said.

The passengers in the vehicle included an 11-year-old boy, a 13-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy, a 19-year-old man and a 23-year-old man. The minors were taken to a juvenile detention center, and the two adults were booked into the county jail, the statement said.

The driver and passengers face a number of charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless endangering, first-degree theft, unlawful permission of a firearm, second-degree criminal trespass, and giving false information to police.
