Woman hit by double-decker tour bus and trapped underneath in Nashville, officials say

A woman was hit by a double-decker tour bus and trapped underneath it in Tennessee over the weekend.

A witness told local outlet WSMV that the woman was crossing the street when she was hit by the bus in the 300 block of Broadway in Nashville around 5 p.m. Saturday.

First responders arrived to find the woman trapped underneath the bus, the Nashville Fire Department told WKRN.

Once crews freed the woman, who has not been publicly identified, she was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, WZTV reported.

Officials are investigating the cause of the crash, according to WSMV. Police officers on the scene told WKRN that no citations had been issued at the time.

No other information had been released as of Monday afternoon.
