Does your pet need a playlist? Spotify will create one based on its personality
Does your poodle love punk rock? Or your cat love classical?
Then Spotify has just the thing for you: a playlist tailored specifically to your pet.
It all started with a study by the streaming service, which found that 71 percent of pet owners like bopping to tunes with their fluffy companions, according to a news release. More than that, the same study found that eight out of 10 pet owners believe their pets actually like music.
Now, Spotify wants to give man’s best friends the music they crave with tailor-made playlists. But they’ll need your help.
All you have to do is visit spotify.com/pets to tell them a little about your pet.
First, you’ll need to “pick your pet,” the release says. You can choose from a dog, cat, iguana, hamster or bird.
Second, you’ll fill out a questionnaire about your companion, the release says. Is your pet shy? Energetic? Friendly?
Next, add a photo of your pet and its name. You’ll get a personalized card that lists your pet’s tunes, the release says.
Finally, sit back, relax (or stand up and dance) with your furry, scaled or feathered friends and enjoy the music chosen especially for them, the release says.
Spotify says it consulted with experts to determine the most suitable music for the tool’s featured animals. But if you’re wondering why your fish, snake or tarantula wasn’t included, it’s nothing personal.
“They don’t have ears,” the company says.
