The San Miguel School Board meets Thursday evening in the library at Lillian Larsen School, 1601 L St.
Open session begins at 6:30 p.m., and there are two public hearings on the agenda: 1. Educator effectiveness plan and 2. Approval of waiver regarding length of the school day for transitional kindergarten and kindergarten program.

Here’s a look at this week’s activities at the Senior Center, 601 12th St. (east side): On Thursday, the community potluck is at 6 p.m. The San Miguel Seniors will provide a turkey main dish and welcome side dishes and desserts.
Friday bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. and will be the only bingo night in December because of the holidays.
Thanks for donations
A hugely successful Show and Shine on Saturday produced more than 1,800 donations for Toys for Tots. A huge thank you from everyone who worked hard to everyone who participated!
Money for scholarships
The California Retired Teachers Association’s Division 86 Scholarship Committee is seeking donations to its funds that benefit graduating seniors from all North County high schools.
San Miguel is an elementary district; graduating students attend Paso Robles High School. Donations may be sent to committee treasurer Betty Williams, 5480 Pescado Lane, Atascadero, CA 93422, by February 2016 and are greatly appreciated.
Hit the wine trail
The Pleasant Valley Wine Trail invites all to its “Holiday on the Wine Trail” on Saturday starting at noon. The 10 wineries are located east of San Miguel in the rolling hills, accessible from either Highway 46 East or from San Miguel. See www.pleasantvalleywinetrail.com for more information.
