Port San Luis Lighthouse Keepers has new board members

The Point San Luis Lighthouse Keepers board of directors has elected three new members.

KVEC radio host Dave Congalton and Midori Feldman, a local attorney with considerable accounting and fundraising experience, were elected to the board as new members. Andrew Merriam, retired architect and Cal Poly architecture and planning instructor, was welcomed back to the board following a long absence.

The Point San Luis Lighthouse Keepers is a nonprofit group formed in the mid-1990s to undertake the restoration of the Point San Luis Light Station at Avila Beach behind the PG&E Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant main gate.

In partnership with the Port San Luis Harbor District, the Lighthouse Keepers have provided more than 70,000 hours of volunteer labor and helped administer $1.6 million in matching grants to restore the lighthouse.
