Reptile lovers can get an up close and personal view of the lives of local snakes through a new program offered by The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County.

The nonprofit organization partnered with Project RattleCam, a Cal Poly student program that studies rattlesnake behavior by placing cameras near snake dens, to create a daily livestream video of “a rattlesnake rookery on a private conserved ranch” in San Luis Obispo County, the Land Conservancy said in a Facebook post.

“Tune in daily to observe these fascinating creatures,” the nonprofit said.

Central Coast Snake Services helped coordinate the livestream video, the Land Conservancy said.

Viewers can watch rattlesnakes slither, snuggle and bask in the sun via YouTube and rattlecam.org.
