Cuesta College’s Nursing Program will begin offering three new educational pathways this summer.
The college is adding a concurrent enrollment pathway with Cal State Monterey Bay for associate and bachelor’s degrees in nursing.
The partnership will allow Cuesta College’s registered nursing students to enroll in Cal State Monterey Bay courses, so they can complete a bachelor’s degree within a year of graduating from Cuesta College, according to a news release. Some of the classes will be taught locally and others through a combination of online and on-campus live classroom sessions.
Twenty-one students are set to begin courses in the concurrent pathway this June, according to the release.
The college also plans to expand the new degree pathway this fall to nurses in the community who have earned a New Licensed Vocational Nursing associate degree. It will also offer a prenursing associate degree program to prepare students for application to the nursing program at Cuesta and other California community colleges.
