Cal Poly’s Orfalea College of Business was ranked 59th in the nation by Bloomberg Businessweek, moving up 11 spots from last year.
The college is one of four California programs that make the list,, which ranks the top 114 colleges and univities in the U.S. The others are UC Berkeley (No. 36), Santa Clara University (No. 51) and University of San Diego (No. 53). This marks the seventh year Cal Poly has been listed.
Bloomberg Businessweek based its assessment on surveys of employers and students combined with graduates’ starting salaries and student internship data. The Orfalea College of Business ranked No. 25 in the nation for graduate salaries and No. 43 in the nation based on the student survey. Cal Poly also had more industry-focused internships and less student debt than survey averages, according to the ranking.
In 2014, the most recent year that undergraduate rankings were conducted, the publication also ranked the Cal Poly business degree at No. 5 in the nation for return on investment.
