Internet futurist to speak at Cal Poly
A technology expert noted for identifying trends in the industry will speak at Cal Poly from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Spanos Theatre.
“Futurist” Dave Evans, co-founder and chief technology officer of Silicon Valley startup Stringify, will speak at the event, which is free and open to the public.
Evans previously worked at Cisco for 24 years and was a member of the company’s corporate technology group. It was where he envisioned and coined the term “The Internet of Everything.”
His work involves “the true potential of the ‘Internet of Things’ by bringing together the physical and digital worlds in ways previously unimagined,” according to Cal Poly. Evans has several patents in the technology fields, including the automotive industry and mobile-phone technology.
Evans’ free, public talk is hosted by Cal Poly’s College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences.
