Cuesta College sets groundbreakings for two buildings
Cuesta College will hold two groundbreaking ceremonies this month for the first new buildings to be built with funds from Measure L, a $275 million bond measure passed by voters in November 2014.
A ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Friday for a 32,000-square-foot instructional building on the San Luis Obispo campus. Attendees may park in Lot 5.
The new two-story center will house eight 12,000-square-foot classrooms and one 24,000-square-foot forum on the first floor, and it will include more than 40 offices, staff lounges and meeting rooms on the second floor.
On the Paso Robles campus, a groundbreaking is set for 10 a.m. March 24 for the new North County Campus Center. The 43,000-square-foot, two-story building will also house programs and offices displaced by the removal of modular structures; it will also include student services, including admissions and records, counseling, financial aid, student life and leadership, the health center, a bookstore and the cafeteria.
Construction on both buildings will start in April and is expected to wrap up in fall 2017.
Attendees are encouraged to RSVP by Thursday to Jessica_strano@cuesta.edu or by calling 546-3279. For information on Measure L, go to www.cuestacollegebond.info.
