Cuesta College will offer several new courses at its South County Center starting in January, including some that are free to the public.
Located on the Arroyo Grande High School campus, the center’s offerings include traditional college courses that apply toward college transfer and degrees, and courses for students who are still in high school that apply toward high school credit and/or college credit. The center will offer GED preparation non-credit courses for residents without a high school diploma.
The community college also is bringing back its free Emeritus College, after seven years of not offering the non-credit courses for adults. Available courses include composing a life story, creative writing, drawing, wills and trusts, creative cooking, and film appreciation, among others.
Courses begin Jan. 19. The center will be open from 4 to 9 p.m. Jan. 4 to 14 to provide registration assistance.
