Rallying for a larger pay raise, California State University faculty members, including a group from Cal Poly, are planning to protest at Tuesday’s CSU Board of Trustees meeting.
More than 1,000 faculty will be marching from downtown Long Beach to the Chancellor’s Office, where the meeting will be held.
The meeting will include a 9:30 a.m. update on the latest collective-bargaining efforts between the CSU administration and the California Faculty Association.
The faculty union is pushing for a 5 percent raise this academic year while the CSU has held firm on its 2 percent offer, leading to the faculty decision to authorize a strike if a settlement can’t be reached.
