Pacific Beach High School in SLO graduates 29 students
Twenty-nine graduates received their diplomas Thursday from Pacific Beach High School in San Luis Obispo.
Two of them received the Principal’s Award, given for outstanding academic accomplishment: Yesenia Salgado and Keeley Buehre. Both attended school full time while doing additional independent work on night and weekends and working part-time jobs. They plan to pursue careers in health care and will attend Cuesta College.
The Green and Gold Award, given for perseverance through life's obstacles, was given to Rhianna Ruiz and Kenia Hernandez. “Both had serious obstacles and challenges, and showed fabulous leadership, personality, perseverance and poise,” said Principal Andy Marinello. In all, the seniors received more than $27,000 in scholarships.
