Cal Poly’s mid-June ceremony will mark the end of the local graduation season.
Paso Robles High School
Paso Robles High School saw 414 seniors graduate Friday night, activities director Jennifer Bedrosian told The Tribune at the ceremony.
A total of 62 students earned over $337,000 in scholarships to further their education, according to principal Megan Fletcher.
At least 150 graduates will be headed to Cuesta College, while another 17 are on their way to Cal Poly. Some graduates will disperse to other California universities, including UC Berkeley and UCLA, ten out-of-state schools and one international school, Fletcher told The Tribune in an email.
Around 19 students plan on entering the military.
The Paso Robles ceremony honored the Class of 2025 valedictorian, Ava Friedling. Friedling is on her way to UCLA to study biology on the path to becoming a medical student.
“Ava attributes her success to maintaining a positive attitude and a passion for her pursuits, believing that optimism and determination can help one achieve great heights,” Fletcher told The Tribune.
Paso Robles’ salutatorian, Hannah Bourgault, is headed to Cal Poly to study forest and fire science and will join the women’s soccer club team, Fletcher said.
“Her secret to success lies in staying motivated through activities she loves and surrounding herself with hardworking and encouraging peers,” she added.
Nipomo High School
Nipomo High School celebrated 186 new graduates Friday night.
According to the district, 29 students received scholarships totaling over $173,000.
The school also celebrated five valedictorians, the graduation program showed:

San Luis Obispo High School
San Luis Obispo High School saw 384 students graduate Friday night — amounting to 98.5% of the senior class, according to the district.
The ceremony highlighted Marshall Lin as the school’s valedictorian and Wesley Bartlett as salutatorian.
The graduating class earned 235 local scholarships totaling over $380,000, according to the district.
The district told The Tribune around 62% of the graduates are headed to four-year universities, while another 37% are on their way to community college, and 1% will be entering the military or going straight to the workforce.
