Cyberbullying reported at SLO County elementary school, police say

A Paso Robles elementary school was notified Tuesday about cyberbullying that occurred via the social media app Snapchat, according the Paso Robles Police Department.

School resource officers at Winifred Pifer Elementary School were “immediately notified and follow-up was conducted,” police said in a news release.

At one point, a picture of a possible weapon — later identified as a BB gun — was sent via SnapChat to an unknown person, according to police.

“There was no threat made to any school or person,” police said in the release.

“The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District and our (school resource officers) SROs collaborated on a joint effort to educate students and parents of the dangers of social media use and cyberbullying,” the release said.
