Grover Beach police need help identifying a man who stole a surveillance camera that recorded him committing the theft.

The man allegedly stole the camera between 4:30 a.m. and 4:45 a.m. Friday morning outside Tacos De Acapulco, located on the 1000 block of South 13th Street, said Sgt. Sonny Gerber of the Grover Beach Police Department.

Surveillance footage from the camera shows the man using a laundry cart from nearby Sparclean Laundromat to reach up and swipe the device, Gerber said.

The camera’s estimated value is around $300, Gerber said.

Anyone with information about the theft is encouraged to contact Gerber at 805-473-4511 or sgerber@gbpd.org, or San Luis Obispo County Crime Stoppers at 805-549-7867.
