Atascadero police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed El Camino Liquor in Atascadero early Friday morning, according to Cpl. John Taylor.

The thief entered El Camino Liquor at 7403 El Camino Real after throwing a concrete brick through the window, Taylor said.

Police received a call from the alarm company at 4:50 a.m., Taylor said. The man allegedly took a bunch of cigarettes and the cash drawer; Taylor was uncertain how much cash was taken, if any.

He said some of the merchandise was recovered behind a nearby building.

Authorities are asking anyone that recognizes the man to contact the Atascadero Police Department at 805-461-5051.
