A Santa Maria man was arrested in Oceano early Wednesday morning on suspicion of drug possession and parole violations after deputies allegedly found him carrying a knife and paraphernalia.
San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s deputies made a traffic stop about 12:45 a.m. on South 13th Street at The Pike, said Tony Cipolla, a spokesman for the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office. Henry Castillo Jr., 41, was one of four occupants in the vehicle.
Deputies found a large folding knife sticking out of Castillo’s pocket, which was in violation of his parole for attempted murder, Cipolla said. He said they also found a bag on the vehicle floor near Castillo’s feet that contained syringes, a digital scale, plastic bags and a plastic bottle containing 11 pills, which later tested positive for cocaine and a small amount of heroin.
Castillo was arrested on suspicion of parole violations, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of narcotics for sale. Two women in the car were cited for possession of about 1 gram of methamphetamine and a pipe.
