San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s deputies found an 18-year-old suspected of stabbing a 15-year-old boy at San Miguel Park on Monday afternoon, but no arrests were made because it’s not clear who the “primary aggressor” was, the agency said Tuesday in a news release.
The Sheriff’s Office believes the incident was gang related.
Authorities have not released the names of either person involved, but they say the 15-year-old remains in a local hospital recovering from a wound that is not life threatening.
Deputies responded to the park on the 1200 block of K Street about 3 p.m. for a report of a stabbing. The boy was found and treated by emergency medical personnel and then taken to the hospital.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tony Cipolla previously said the suspect was a white man about 19 years old, 6 feet tall and last seen leaving the area on foot with a handkerchief hanging out of his back pocket.
Investigators located the man at his San Miguel home about an hour after the incident.
The Sheriff’s Office said the case will be forwarded to the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of possible criminal charges.
