Paso Robles man arrested after allegedly burglarizing grandparents’ home
Paso Robles police say a 27-year-old man stole thousands of dollars of jewelry from his grandparents’ home before he and a suspected accomplice were arrested during a search involving a CHP helicopter Sunday night.
A female accomplice fled on foot and had not been located as of late Monday morning, police said.
At about 7 p.m., elderly residents in the 200 block of Palomino Circle returned home to find two people inside, the Paso Robles Police Department said in a news release. Both fled in a waiting 2001 Chevrolet Malibu.
The alleged victims reported that several thousands of dollars’ worth of jewelry was taken.
Investigators eventually linked the vehicle to a nearby home on Pino Way. Officers watched the home, and eventually the car pulled into the driveway. When officers approached, a male and a female passenger fled on foot. The driver, identified as Jeremy Matthew Sundahl, 27, of Paso Robles — the victims’ grandson, according to police Lt. Ty Lewis — stayed in the car and was arrested. Jordan Nogo, 25, of Paso Robles was found hiding in nearby bushes and arrested.
Both men were booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of burglary and related charges. They remained in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail Monday afternoon.
The woman, identified as 20-year-old Michele Marie Chavez of Paso Robles, remains at large, and police are asking for the public’s help in locating her.
