Suspect sought in attempted armed robbery of Paso 13-year-old
Paso Robles police are searching for a man who allegedly attempted to rob a 13-year-old boy Wednesday morning while the boy was walking to school.
The victim said he was walking through the area of Melody Drive and Sylvia Circle while on his way to Daniel Lewis Middle School when a male suspect armed with a “small kitchen knife” jumped out at him, according to a Paso Robles Police Department news release.
The suspect demanded the victim’s sweatshirt and backpack, but the victim fled. He reported the incident to school authorities, who contacted police.
The suspect is described as a 30- to 35-year-old white male with a dark, graying beard wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and camouflage pants.
