Suspect arrested after fire set on downtown SLO sidewalk
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of felony arson early Saturday after allegedly setting fire to some cardboard on a sidewalk in downtown San Luis Obispo.
Police and firefighters responded to a report of a fire outside Marston’s Bar and Grill at 673 Higuera Street sometime in the early morning, said San Luis Obispo police Sgt. Jeff Booth. Aside from the cardboard, no other property was damaged, he said.
Thomas J. Dinielli was booked into County Jail about 5 a.m. and was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail on Saturday afternoon, jail logs show. Booth said Dinielli was a transient. The fire is under investigation.
