More than 400 thefts reported in San Luis Obispo since Dec. 1, police say
More than 400 thefts have been reported to San Luis Obispo police since Dec. 1, including vehicle and residential burglaries.
A majority of the incidents have involved unlocked vehicles or homes, according to a news release from the police department. In response, police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and homes and remove or place valuables out of sight.
To spread the word, police have placed an electronic message board on Santa Rosa Street, at Oak Street near Santa Rosa Park, and conducted an on-campus campaign at Cal Poly and Cuesta College.
