Grover Beach police looking for suspect in stabbing
Grover Beach police are looking for a suspect in an attempted murder Tuesday night at a transient camp near the city’s train station.
At about 6:55 p.m. officers and members of Five Cities Fire responded to a report of a stabbing at the camp, located in the 100 block of South Highway 1, where they found a 28-year-old male victim who had been stabbed in the torso at least once, causing serious injuries.
The suspect, who fled the scene, is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s, between 5 feet, 7 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds, with a goatee and wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt and black-and-white shorts.
He was last seen running east on Grand Avenue.
The victim was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo and was undergoing surgery Tuesday night.
Southbound Highway 1 from Grand Avenue to Pier Avenue was closed Tuesday night while officers investigated the scene.
