A 29-year-old Templeton man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of downloading and distributing child pornography.

Jeffrey Paul Gentile was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on Thursday afternoon on suspicion of two felony charges of possessing and distributing the material on the Internet.

On Thursday morning, detectives with the Sheriff’s Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement team served a search warrant at a home in the 20 block of Lone Oak Way in Templeton and seized two computers, five laptops and 25 hard drives that contained photos and videos of children engaged in sexual acts, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

Sheriff’s officials say the investigation was ongoing Friday as detectives comb through some 30 terabytes of data collected in the search.

Jail logs indicated that Gentile was no longer in custody Friday afternoon, and no formal charges had been filed in San Luis Obispo Superior Court.
