A man who allegedly barricaded himself in a Pismo Beach house with a shotgun was arrested after a nine-hour standoff with police.

At 4 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to the 900 block of Hanford Street because a man was threatening suicide with a shotgun, according to a news release from the Pismo Beach Police Department.

Officers arrived and determined that Bryce Blue, 25, had barricaded himself inside the home with the shotgun. He allegedly discharged several rounds inside the house and threatened to shoot anyone who approached.

Police called for help from the Arroyo Grande Police Department, Grover Beach Police Department, California State Parks and San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office, and a perimeter was established around the home. The incident was then turned over to the San Luis Obispo Regional SWAT Team.

Negotiators were able to establish contact with Blue, according to the press release, and after a nine-hour standoff, Blue was taken into custody without injury. He was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked at San Luis Obispo County Jail, where bail was set at $50,000.
