A woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon after breaking into a Grover Beach home, taking a shower and attempting to take two sets of car keys, police said.

The Grover Beach Police Department responded to a burglary in process at 1:25 p.m. on the 200 block of North 10th Street, Officer Walid Elsayed told The Tribune.

The homeowner had called the police when they saw someone inside the bedroom on security cameras while they were not home, Elsayed said.

The woman allegedly took a shower in the home, put on makeup and had a conversation with the homeowner through the security camera, which allowed the homeowner to speak through it remotely, Elsayed said.

Police responded to the scene and set up a perimeter for about half and hour but did not close the road during the response, Elsayed said.

The woman, who Elsayed estimated was in her 30s, was contacted inside the home with two sets of car keys belonging to the homeowner.

She was then arrested and booked at the SLO County Jail, Elsayed said. Her name was not released Tuesday evening.
