A San Luis Obispo neighborhood was placed on a shelter-in-place alert Friday night after a domestic dispute led to the arrest of a man on multiple felony charges.

At 10:47 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Valecito for a report of a disorderly situation, according to a news release from the Police Department.

Before they arrived, a woman told dispatch that she and her boyfriend, who had been drinking, had gotten into argument that became physical. He had left the property on foot, the woman said, but she believed he had firearms in his possession.

An officer was able to reach the suspect, identified at Travis Pease, 35, of Lake Havasu, Arizona, and because police were unable to confirm whether he was armed, a Reverse 911 alert was sent to nearby residents advising them to shelter in place.

Pease was located walking up Prefumo Canyon Road and detained.

Officers then searched his car, which was parked at the Valecito home, and discovered several firearms and brass knuckles.

“Further investigation determined that Pease had pushed the female several times, prevented her from leaving the house, and poured juice and gasoline on her car,” the news release said.

Pease was arrested and booked into SLO County Jail on four charges: felony false imprisonment with force, felony vandalism, misdemeanor domestic battery, and misdemeanor possession of brass knuckles. Pease remained in custody on Saturday and was being held with no bail.
