Woman arrested with empty alcohol bottles in car after alleged hit-and-runs in SLO
A woman was arrested in San Luis Obispo after allegedly hitting multiple cars in three locations and fleeing each scene while drunk on Wednesday afternoon.
At around 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, the San Luis Obispo Police Department received a call that a sedan had hit a car near California Boulevard and Monterey Street and drove away, the Police Department posted on Facebook.
While officers were en route to the scene, two more calls came in that the same sedan had hit another car at San Luis Drive and Johnson Avenue, and again at Foothill Boulevard and Santa Rosa Street, again fleeing both areas, the post said.
One of the drivers hit was injured and sought treatment at a local hospital, the post said.
The driver, 36-year-old Rovasha Underwood, was located with the sedan in the parking lot of San Miguel Taqueria on Santa Rosa Street, the post said.
The sedan had a flat tire and contained a numerous empty bottles of alcohol piled up in the backseat, the post said. Photos also showed drug paraphernalia in the car.
Underwood was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, three counts of felony hit-and-run and misdemeanor possession of narcotics paraphernalia, the post said.
The driver kicked and spit at officers during the arrest, prompting the addition of battery on a police officer to his charges, the post said.
