DUI driver rams into bus stop sign, crashes into culvert in SLO, police say

A driver was arrested in San Luis Obispo early Friday morning on suspicion of a DUI after ramming through a bus stop sign and into a barrier above a creek culvert, police said.

The crash was reported around 12:56 a.m. Friday morning on Orcutt Road just past the Laurel Lane intersection, according to the SLO Police Department.

The vehicle crashed into a sign outside a bus stop before coming to rest on a railing above the creek culvert, police spokesperson Christine Wallace told The Tribune.

The driver sustained minor injuries, but refused medical care at the scene, police said on Facebook.

The driver was subsequently arrested and booked into the SLO County Jail for a suspected DUI, police said.

Police did not release the name of the driver.
