A truck crashed in front of the Irish Hills Plaza in San Luis Obispo on Saturday, followed by an arrest of the driver for a suspected DUI and hit-and-run.

At 5:41 p.m. on Saturday, San Luis Obispo Police were notified of a car that crashed into a traffic light pole at the corner of Los Osos Valley Road and Froom Ranch Way at the entrance of Irish Hills Plaza, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

The driver ran from his truck after crashing, and eyewitnesses helped the police track him down not too far from the scene, the post read.

Police arrested the individual, who did not sustain any injuries, for suspected DUI and hit-and-run, according to the post.
