An Arroyo Grande man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly forcing a minor younger than 14 to engage in “lewd and lascivious acts,” the Arroyo Grande Police Department said.

Steven Jeffrey Ruhl, 67, was arrested at 2:12 p.m. after police investigated a sexual assault allegation, police said.

“Ruhl was taken into custody at the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport, where he had just returned from a business trip,” the news release said.

He was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, police said.

He remained in custody on Friday, according to jail records.

Those with information about the investigation should contact the Investigations Bureau at 805-473-5127 or jcastillo@arroyogrande.org.
