Corvette crashes into SLO house after doing donuts — so police called out the driver

A suspected drunk driver was arrested after he crashed his Corvette into a house on Wednesday night, the San Luis Obispo Police Department said in a no-nonsense Facebook post.

The 26-year-old San Luis Obispo County resident was doing donuts in the cul de sac of Parsons Way when he lost control of his Corvette, drove over a bed of flowers and struck a house at about 8:25 p.m., Lt. Chad Pfarr said.

The crash did not cause any injuries.

But the incident did earn a spicy comment from the Police Department.

“Real talk SLO: Drinking and driving is dumb. Drinking, driving and spinning donuts in a cul de sac and losing control then hitting a house is even dumber,” the Police Department wrote in the Facebook post on Thursday morning.

The crash didn’t cause structural damage to the home, Pfarr said, but the Corvette left tire marks on the road.

When police arrived on the scene, they arrested the driver and impounded the vehicle.
