Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole $3,700 worth of copper pipe and threatened an employee at Home Depot in San Luis Obispo earlier this month.

The man allegedly stole the pipe on Oct. 3 at about 7:40 p.m., San Luis Obispo Police Department Sgt. Joshua Walsh said.

He escaped in a silver Scion xB before police arrived, Walsh said.

In a post on X, the Police Department said during the robbery, the suspect “pulled a knife on an employee and threatened to kill them.”

The man had dark, short hair and wore a medical mask, a photo taken at the scene of the crime showed.
