Suspect arrested after brandishing replica gun in Shell Beach, police say
A man was arrested Sunday in Shell Beach for allegedly brandishing a replica firearm, Pismo Beach police say.
On Sunday, police responded to reports of a driver “brandishing a firearm from a vehicle,” according to a Pismo Beach Police Department social media post.
When officers apprehended the suspect, they found that the firearm was a BB gun that lacked orange safety tabs used to indicate imitation, replica or toy guns, according to the post.
Officers confiscated two BB guns without safety tabs and one assault-style BB gun that did have the proper orange markings.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of brandishing an imitation firearm, police say.
